About the Kenya Academy of Sports . . .
The Kenya Academy of Sports was established through Sports Act 2013 and develops sports talent through the establishment and management of sports academies, training and research for global competitiveness and sustainable socio-economic growth.
The Sports Act 2013 Part IV section 34 defines the functions of the Kenya Academy of Sports as follows :
-Establish and manage sports training academies
-Organise, administer and co-ordinate sports courses for technical and sports administration personnel
-Promote research and development of talent in sports, in collaboration with institutions of higher learning, national sports organisations and other stakeholders
-Link with other institutions and organisations for regular updates on the current sports trends
-Perform any other function that may directly or indirectly contribute to the attainment of the foregoing
